Brian Teven Serves on Deerfield Park Foundation Board

Partner Brian Teven serves as Secretary and sits on the Board of Directors for the Deerfield Park Foundation, which works to improve and beautify the parks and facilities of the Deerfield Park District. The foundation also provides assistance for residents in financial need to participate in recreation programs, supports park development initiatives that enhance community recreation, and has programs for remembrance and recognition. Though 2020 has been a difficult year, the board is still constantly trying to come up with creative ways to fundraise and encourage participation in the program. 

Golf Outing Sponsorships

Anesi Ozmon was a proud sponsor of several recent golf outings supporting local trades. On August 24, 2020, Anesi Ozmon was a hole sponsor for the Kankakee & Iroquois Counties Building & Construction Trades Council Annual Golf Outing at Oak Springs Golf Course in St. Anne. We also raffled off a television to a lucky player. On September 23, 2020, Anesi Ozmon raffled a television at the 26th Annual Christmas Golf in September in support of the Kankakee Federation of Labor. The outing was also held at Oak Springs Golf Course. On September 28, 2020, Anesi Ozmon was the long drive sponsor of the Will & Grundy Counties Building Trades Council Golf Outing at Inwood Golf Course in Joliet and Wedgewood Golf Course in Plainfield. We also raffled off steaks at the event.

Court Updates During COVID-19

By Hayley K. Graham The last six months has been an unprecedented time in history for everyone across all industries during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Still, Anesi Ozmon has remained committed to providing the gold standard of service to our clients. Our attorneys have learned to navigate virtual court appearances and depositions. Our dedicated support staff has adapted to changes in court filing procedures. Our entire team has implemented new strategies for working remotely.  In-person court appearances largely remain on hold for the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission (IWCC) and the circuit courts have adapted to nearly exclusive video court appearances to keep cases moving forward.  Trials in Cook County courts have been deferred until 2021. However, depositions, mediations and pre-trial conferences continue. Trials at the IWCC only commence following a mandatory pre-trial conference with the judge. If the judge agrees to set the case for trial after the pre-trial conference, it proceeds under strict rules and time limits. Changes in procedures have also been followed by a shift in arbitrators at the IWCC. Governor J.B.
