Biography

Scott Moran began his career in the fire service starting with the Justice Fire Department as a paid-on-call firefighter in May 1986. He also then served with the Willow Springs Fire Department. In February 1991 he was hired as a firefighter/paramedic for the Homewood Fire Department. Scott served the Homewood Fire Department until May 2017 when he retired as a Captain. During his 26+ years of service to Homewood Scott also served as the Secretary / Treasurer to Local 3656 and the Pension Board, both for more than 20 years. In October 2014 he was hired by the Law Offices of Thomas W. Duda where he began as a paralegal and in November 2019, he became an Associate Attorney.

In September 2024 he joined the firm of Anesi Ozmon, Ltd. Scott’s practice is concentrated on firefighter and police officers representing them in pension disability claims, workers compensation claims, Public Employee Disability Act claims as well as Public Safety Employee Benefits Act claims. Scott also represents survivors of those firefighters and police officers who were killed in the line of duty as well as firefighters and police officers as well as in various other employment actions as well. In addition, Scott has been a Illinois Firefighter Peer Support team member since its first class in 2012. Scott is also the attorney for the Illinois Firefighter Peer Support Team.

Scott concentrates his practice on serving firefighters, paramedics and police officers as well as other public employees. Scott’s practice not only includes workers’ compensation but also police and fire disability pensions, Public Employee Disability Act (PEDA) benefits, Public Safety Employee Benefits Act (PSEBA), Survivor’s benefits, QILDROs and other issues related to public employees.
