Charles E. Anesi founded his Chicago law firm with a single mission: protect the rights of injured workers under Illinois workers’ compensation law. Simultaneously, Nat P. Ozmon and Richard A. Lewin founded Ozmon & Lewin, pioneering personal injury jury trial work in Chicago. Nat Ozmon would go on to be recognized as a trailblazer in personal injury trial law.

1978: The Second Generation Takes The Field

The firm became Anesi Ozmon & Lewin, Ltd. Curt N. Rodin and Noel C. Lindenmuth – both of whom had trained at the firm since law school – were named partners, ensuring the next generation of trial excellence.

1985: Carrying The Legacy Forward

Following the passing of Richard Lewin, the firm was renamed Anesi Ozmon & Rodin, Ltd., honoring the legacy while continuing the fight.

1997: Recognizing Excellence In Leadership

The firm became Anesi Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen Ltd., reflecting the rise of its second generation of leaders and their proven records in the courtroom.

2023: The Next Generation, The Same Standard

Today, Steven A. Berman, Brian D. Teven, David Figlioli, John M. Popelka, Scott Sands and Robert J. Cheris join firm president Jeffrey M. Alter – each carrying forward the firm’s tradition of aggressive representation, trial excellence and unwavering client advocacy.
