Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen, Ltd. Filed a Wrongful Death Lawsuit on Behalf of Mother of 5-Year-Old Amareon Williams

Jul 9, 2014 | Firm News

On June 17th, 2014, Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen Ltd. filed a wrongful death lawsuit in LaPorte County, Indiana against Tricia’s Playhouse and Day Care on behalf of Anita Leflore following the death of her 5-year-old son Amareon Williams. According to the lawsuit, the day care facility failed to comply with Indiana State Law whereby young children are required to be monitored and under the direct supervision of certified caregivers at all times, and was negligent in allowing a hazardous condition to exist in their playground.

At the time of the incident, the only two caregivers were inside the day care facility when a jump rope became entangled around the child’s neck, which later caused Amareon to die from asphyxiation.

“I would just like to say to everyone at the firm, this is about Jeff Alter, I know that you all there have large and much more profitable cases than mine, the people that Jeff and his secretary had to deal with are simply scandals and that is being polite, but Jeff and his wonderful secretary fought for me and my family, I was off work over this for over a year. Medical bills . . . just a lot of uncertainty, fear and just being taken great advantage of, my settlement is only a few dollars, less than $4,000, this is in no way due to lack of working hard and vigorously for me [sic].”

“They did a great job with helping me with my workman's comp case. I would recommend this law firm to anyone that’s in need of a lawyer.”
