On June 17th, 2014, Anesi Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen Ltd. filed a wrongful death lawsuit in LaPorte County, Indiana against Tricia’s Playhouse and Day Care on behalf of Anita Leflore following the death of her 5-year-old son Amareon Williams. According to the lawsuit, the daycare facility failed to comply with Indiana State Law whereby young children are required to be monitored and under the direct supervision of certified caregivers at all times and were negligent in allowing a hazardous condition to exist in their playground.
At the time of the incident, the only two caregivers were inside the daycare facility when a jump rope became entangled around the child’s neck, which later caused Amareon to die from asphyxiation.
