GM warns: Park recalled cars until repairs are done

On behalf of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen Ltd. posted in Motor Vehicle Accidents on Friday, May 16, 2014. Many of us in Chicago depend heavily on our cars. They get us to work and take our children to school. They are simply an important tool in our day-to-day lives. Being reliant on a car does have its downfalls. For example, many cars are prone to mechanical problems; and that is not only true for those who drive older vehicles. In recent months, millions of cars have been recalled due to defective auto parts that were installed in brand new vehicles. Defective auto parts do more than inconvenience drivers in Illinois. They also cause car accidents, serious injuries, and even death. General Motors recalled 2.59 million vehicles recently due to faulty ignition switches. The problematic auto part has been connected to 13 deaths so far. This week, the automaker announced it is recalling 2.7 million more vehicles. Some of these vehicles are potentially so dangerous that the company is urging people to stop driving them immediately.
